Panthers slip to fourth after 36 holes

PANORA - Northern Iowa slipped one spot Saturday during round two of the Missouri Valley Conference women's golf tournament at Lake Panorama National Resort.

Standing in third after Friday's action, the Panthers ended round two in fourth. Saturday, UNI shot a team score of 309, making its two-day total 615. That left the Panthers well behind first-place Illinois State at 596, followed by Drake (604) and Wichita State (609).

Blair Bonner continues to be UNI's top individual performer. She shot a 78 Saturday and owns a share of sixth place in the standings. Her birdie on the 18th hole lifted UNI one stroke past Missouri State for sole possession of fourth.

Kim Weber is in an eighth-place tie while Ann Arnason is deadlocked in 18th. Shanon Davis is tied for 30th and Heather Frye is among a trio at 46th.

Drake's Olivia Lansing, the individual leader, shot a 69 Saturday, missing the conference record by a single stroke. Her 36 hole total is 144.

The MVC women's tournament begins its final round today at 8 a.m.
