FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Doug Case, an assistant track and field coach under Chris Bucknam at Northern Iowa, will follow his boss to Arkansas, the Razorback program announced Monday.
The announcement of Case's hiring completes the staff of the Arkansas cross country and track and field program. Bucknam said previously that assistant coach Dick Booth and director of operations Danny Green had agreed to stay on board after serving under Bucknam's predecessor, legendary coach John McDonnell, who retired June 30.
Bucknam says he has known Case for several years, and recruited him to join the UNI staff.
A 1987 graduate of UNI, Case spent nine seasons at his alma mater, and also has served as an assistant at Drake University and Arkansas State.
Under Case's guidance, UNI sprinters and pole vaulters have earned 35 All-America honors, including a national championship in the pole vault and 64 NCAA Division I national meet qualifiers.
