Series: Western Illinois holds a 5-2-2 edge over the Panthers, including a 3-0 win last year. UNI has never beaten Eastern Illinois, which holds a 2-0-1 advantage in the series.
Last time out: In its own Panther Invitational last weekend, UNI followed its highest-scoring win ever, 6-1 over UMKC, with a 0-0, double-overtime tie against Western Michigan.
Notes: Leading scorer Chelsie Hochstedler (eight points) scored twice in the win over UMKC, the second multiple-goal game of her collegiate career. … Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Potzman recorded her third shutout as a Panther in the 120-minute, double overtime marathon against Western Michigan. Potzman carries a 1.15 goals-against average and an .824 save percentage. … The status of sophomore defender Grace Goldman, who suffered an injured shoulder late in the WMU game, remains uncertain. … The eight Illinois natives on UNI's roster will be revisiting familiar turf and facing some familiar opponents. Freshman Kiki McClelland of Aurora, Ill., has three former prep teammates at Eastern Illinois, while Potzman played with EIU's Kayla Doran at Incarnate Word Academy in St. Louis. … Western Illinois is a combined 14-1-1 in regular-season home matches since 2007. … Fans may have to look twice to figure out which team to cheer for in both games. Western Illinois sports the same purple and gold school colors as UNI, while Eastern Illinois goes by the same nickname as the Panthers.
