WATERLOO - Waterloo West captured the 2009 boys' Metro Meet golf crown Saturday at Irv Warren Golf Course.

John Butler fired a 1-under 71 to pace the Wahawks, who were 17 strokes better than Cedar Falls.

Butler also finished as the individual champion with a two-round total of 152. West's Sam Cooley and Cedar Falls' Jacob Bermel tied for second at 154.

"I was very happy with the way we played today. We broke 300 for the first time this year," West coach Larry Daniels said.
