
IOWA CITY - The fifth-ranked Waterloo West baseball team continued its strong play, sweeping Iowa City High, 5-2 and 13-5, Friday.
The Wahawks (20-4 overall, 11-2 MVC) collected 28 hits in the doubleheader.
Several West players collected multiple hits. Jake Raecker led the way with a 5-for-9 effort, including four RBIs.
Nick Massina and Jeremy Wright were each 4-for-7. Raecker had three RBIs in the first game as did Wright in the nightcap.
"We played good," West coach Jeremy Langner said. "Pitching wise, we were pretty good. The hitting was really, really good."
West hosts Cedar Rapids Jefferson at 5 p.m. Monday.
