
MARION - Spurred by medalist Sarah Boss' round of 81, Waterloo West made a charge at the top of the leaderboard at Tuesday's Linn-Mar Invitational. It wasn't quite enough for a team title, however, as Iowa City Regina edged the Wahawks, 364-367.
Cedar Falls, led by Mackenzee Quarnstrom's 93, finished third, with a team score of 391.
The meet's runner-up medalist was Cedar Rapids Kennedy's Alex Zenor (86).
The Wahawks and Tigers were set to return to action today in the second round of the metro meet series at Irv Warren Golf Course in Waterloo.
