HAMPTON - Defense made the difference as Hampton-Dumont rolled to a 9-2 Class 3A district final win over Clear Lake Monday.

The Bulldogs capitalized on six Clear Lake errors while playing a perfect game in the field themselves.

Freshman Cody Prantner tossed a five-hitter for the win, while catcher Patrick Hansen went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in for H-D.

The Bulldogs (19-11) face Boone in substate action Wednesday at Iowa Falls.
