GREENE - At Round Grove Golf and Country Club, Grundy Center qualified as a team for the girls' state tournament, finishing second in a 1A, Region 3 final Tuesday.

The Spartans were paced by Jocilyn Onnen, who shot an 88 to finish third individually.

Northeast Iowa will also be represented at the state meet by Wapsie Valley individual Kayla Koschmeder, a junior who fired a 90 Tuesday to finish fifth.

State tournament competition for Class 1A and 2A will take place June 1-2 at American Legion Memorial Golf Course in Marshalltown.

At Reinbeck

Clarion-Goldfield ruled the day at this regional, winning the team title by 32 strokes over West Marshall.

However, the host school's Corissa Rowe had her moments, too, firing a 96, good for fifth place and an individual spot in the state tournament on June 1-2.

New Hampton's Amy Kobliska earned a trip to the 3A state tournament by finishing fifth.

Davenport Assumption won the team title, led by Colleen Carroll's 74.

Iowa City Regina finished 31 strokes ahead of the competition in advancing to state.

Missie Feuerbach's round of 77 topped the individual scores.

Clear Lake snuck out a two-stroke victory over Spirit Lake, posting a team score of 370.

Meg Monson of Clear Lake finished with a round of 85 and a five-stroke win.
