
IOWA CITY - Waterloo East split a pair of softball games Friday at the Iowa City West Invitational, then saw Saturday's play washed out by heavy rain.
Kylie Rash fired a one-hitter as East topped Davenport North, 2-0, in the Trojans' opener Friday before second-ranked North Scott blanked East, 4-0.
In their opening victory, the Trojans (21-12) got a run-scoring double from Kesley Rash for a 1-0 lead. Kylie Rash then plated Kesley with a single.

A-P rallies to defeat NU girls, 5-4
PARKERSBURG - Aplington-Parkersburg rallied late to snatch a 5-4 North Iowa Cedar League softball win from NU High Friday.
The Falcons scored twice in the sixth and plated the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Panthers. Shelby Smith scored twice for A-P.
NU was led by Meagan Schneider, who drove in two runs and scored once.
