CEDAR FALLS - Chris Weidenbacher knocked in four goals as Cedar Falls kicked off boys' substate soccer play with a 10-0 win over Waterloo East Tuesday.

Cody Zey, Sam Fransdal, Wes Boyer, Nick Dimarco, Muhammad Shehata and Cody Weber also found the net for the Tigers.

Cedar Falls will take on Fort Dodge Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Fort Dodge.

NU HIGH 3, APLINGTON-PARKERSBURG 2 - In a game at Waverly, the Panthers earned a hard-fought win over their North Iowa Cedar League rivals to advance. No details were available.

WAVERLY-SHELL ROCK 2, INDEPENDENCE 1 - After falling to Independence last week, the Go-Hawks took the rematch when it mattered most, 2-1.

Waverly-Shell Rock scored two breakaway goals to offset a score by the Mustangs' Gabe Kennicker.

DENVER 4, IOWA FALLS-ALDEN 0 - Derrick Krebsbach led Denver with two goals, one assisted by Reid Woodyard, while Brad Franzen and Malte Kosfeld added a goal apiece.

Denver will travel to Hudson Thursday for a 5 p.m. clash with the Pirates.
