Wartburg women move up at Division III golf tourney

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The Wartburg women's golf team advanced two places into a tie for 13th after Friday's round in the NCAA Division III championship at the PGA Wannamaker course.

The Knights' round of 342 was their low for the tournament, with Daina Deery and Kate Thompson leading the way with 80 apiece. Junior Steph Burns of Cedar Falls holds Wartburg's best spot in the standings after her 83 Friday dropped her from 20th to 23rd.

The Knights' team total of 997 matches that of Olivet College and DePauw University.

Sarah Paulson of Iowa's Central College ranks third indivudally with a 228 total.
