CEDAR RAPIDS - The Waterloo Black Hawks let a potential victory slip through their fingers Saturday, surrendering three third-period goals in a 4-3 shootout loss to Cedar Rapids.

Nick Oddo scored two of the RoughRiders' goals in the third, including the game-tying score with two minutes, 20 seconds left on the game clock. After a scoreless overtime, Mike Seidel scored the decisive goal in the shootout.

Nick Larson, Mike Fink and Craig Smith scored for Waterloo.

The Black Hawks (0-2) held Cedar Rapids scoreless on eight power play chances. Waterloo goalie Joe Howe recorded 33 saves.
