ANKENY - Area players won the top three girls' age divisions as play concluded Thursday in the Iowa PGA Junior Tour Championship at Otter Creek Golf Course.

Sarah Boss of Waterloo shot 153 over two rounds to score a victory in the girls' 16-18 division, while Charles City's Jessie Sindlinger won the girls' 14-15 medal, and Christy Wittmer of Hampton came out on top in the collegiate division.

Trailing by one stroke after a first-round 80 Wednesday, Boss fired a 73 Thursday to cruise to a five-stroke win over Susan Kirschenman of Huxley and day-one leader Taylor Hill of Council Bluffs. Oelwein's Katie O'Loughlin came in with a second-round 78 to tie for fifth at 165.

Sindlinger's 76 Thursday was the low round by any golfer in her division as she scored 80-76 - 156 in a six-stroke win over Victoria Grasso of Ankeny.

With just two entries in the women's collegiate division, Wittmer shot 86-86 - 172 for a 12-stroke win over Taylor Hillery of Dubuque.

The top area finisher in the boys' competition was Decorah's Nick Nelson, who shot 74-71 - 145 to tie for second in boys' 14-15, two strokes behind winner Ryan Gutz of Storm Lake.
