IOWA CITY - The Cedar Falls Tigers were in a giving mood at the Iowa City West Invitational Friday night, as 10 errors contributed to a pair of losses on the softball field.
The Tigers (6-3) dropped a 4-0 decision in game one to Bettendorf, then racked up eight errors in the nightcap as they lost 4-2 to Des Moines Hoover.
"We struggled with our hitting all day," Tigers coach Tammy Utley said. "Then, when our defense struggled to field the ball, it just put added pressure on us."
The Tigers play Muscatine at 9 a.m. Saturday, then finish the tournament with Davenport Assumption.
