CHARLES CITY - Brandy Hoffman scored 18 points to lead Charles City past New Hampton in a Northeast Iowa girls' basketball game Friday.
Abby Lasher scored another 16 points for the Comets, and Maddie Forsyth chipped in 15.
After a relatively close first half, the Comets sealed the deal by outscoring New Hampton 34-16 in second-half action.

CHARLES CITY 65, NEW HAMPTON 55 - Charles City's first lead came at the two-minute mark of the fourth quarter, but once the Comets got it they didn't give it back.
Derek Struthers scored 20 points and garrett Vanderwerf added 15 for Charles City, which spoiled a 23-point effort by New Hampton's Jordan Moore.

OELWEIN 60, WAVERLY-SHELL ROCK 59 - Waverly-Shell Rock's Clayton Werkman led all scorers with 18 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Huskies who pulled out the squeaker.
Oelwein won with a three-headed attack of Josh Stewart, Ben Kerns and Kurt Bearinger who had 15, 14, and 13 points, respectively.

DON BOSCO 74, NORTH TAMA 64 - At Traer, Nate Springer powered the Dons' offense with 22 points and Brandon Delegardelle followed suit with aonther 17, leading Don Bosco over the Redhawks.
Don Bosco improved to 15-5 overall, including 14-4 in conference action.
Brendon Boerm paced North Tama with 17 points, eight boards and five assists, but the Redhawks trialed throughout. North Tama fell to 13-8.

Dan Zmoos led the Cougars (19-2 overall) with 16 points. West Central's Tyler Wedemeier led all scorers with 26.

SOUTH WINNESHIEK 49, KEE HIGH 39 - At Lansing, the Warrios downed Kee High on the road behind Jordan Andera's 21-point effort.
Joe Manning scored 21 for the Hawks, but South Winneshiek's supporting cast outscored the Kee High reserves to tip the balance in their favor.
