Egad! Peasants, I needed to get away from it all for a while. I needed absolute peace and quiet. I didn't want any contact with my fellow man. So I found the perfect spot - the Memorial Stadium parking lot in Terre Haute one hour before kickoff. I didn't see a living soul for hours. Harrrumph!
And, being a lover of the fine arts, I thought I was enjoying the dedication of a new statue in Raymond James Stadium Sunday. Turns out I was wrong. It was only Gus Frerotte standing in the pocket - kaff-kaff!
And speaking of pockets, Patti Kuennen of Independence will have $100 to put in hers, thanks to her victory in last week's contest. Patti was one of several entrants to pick a perfect card and hit the points tie-breaker on the button, but she won it by coming the closest on the total yardage.
So the money is on the way. I predict it will not encounter a single obstacle en route. It'll be much like playing against the Cyclone defense - Harrumph!
Until Saturday, peasants.
