CEDAR FALLS - Top-ranked and defending champion Iowa earned the No. 1 seed for this weekend's NWCA National Duals at the UNI-Dome.

The Hawkeyes (10-0) will open against Wyoming (3-0) at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The Cowboys are led by first-year head coach Mark Branch, a former four-time NCAA finalist at Oklahoma State and former associate head coach at OSU.

Iowa State is seeded second and will face Indiana at 11 a.m., while host Northern Iowa drew sixth-seeded Ohio State.

The Buckeyes featured two defending NCAA champions - J Jaggers at 141 and Mike Pucillo at 184.

"They are ranked at almost every weight," Panthers head coach Brad Penrith said. "So … they've got a great lineup."

The Panthers will be short-handed as 149-pounder Charlie Ettelson was lost for the season when he suffered a torn pectoral muscle and a labrum tear during UNI's victory over Buffalo at the Cleveland State duals Saturday.

His spot in the lineup will be filled by Brett Robbins, who retuned from injury Saturday to wrestle for the first time this year.

UNI was already without returning national qualifier Nick Pickerell at 149, who suffered a season-ending shoulder injury prior to the season.

Additionally, 157-pound starter Tyson Reiner has a cracked rib and is questionable for this weekend.

The UNI-Ohio State dual will feature a rematch from the NWCA Classic where the Panthers' Moza Fay defeated the Buckeyes' Colt Sponseller, 14-9, in an exhibition match.

Nebraska-Omaha earned the No. 1 seed in Division II, two-time defending champ Wartburg is top-seeded in Division III, Lindenwood is No. 1 in NAIA, Iowa Central tops the NJCAA seedings and the Unversity of the Cumberlands is No. 1 in the women's division.

Action gets under way at 9 a.m. Saturday with championship matches slated for 3 p.m. Sunday.

All-session passes for the duals are $40 ($32 for senior citizens) and can be purchased at the UNI-Dome box office or by calling 1-877-216-DOME.
