Smith scores twice as Black Hawks calm Storm

KEARNEY, Neb - The Waterloo Black Hawks made it back-to-back wins against Tri-City Saturday, trumping the Storm's third period comeback to win, 6-3.

The Black Hawks racked up four goals in the second period from Craig Smith, Keegan Meuer, Eddie Olczyk and Jordan Samuels-Thomas.

Smith led the Black Hawks with two goals, while Samuels-Thomas dished out two assists and added a score. Joe Howe added 17 saves for the Black Hawks.

Tri-City's Kevin Nugent opened the third period with back-to-back goals, finishing the game with two points for the Storm.

Waterloo next faces Cedar Rapids Thursday at home.
