AMES - The Oklahoma State Cowboys came to town backed by a feared offensive attack.
And the 'Pokes took dead aim Saturday, gunning down host Iowa State 34-8.
Keith Toston's three rushing touchdowns paced No. 18 Oklahoma State, which improved to 7-2 overall. Iowa State dropped to 5-5 overall and 2-4 in Big 12 play.
Oklahoma State rushed for 111 yards in the opening half, seizing a 13-0 lead. Iowa State was also hampered when first-string quarterback Austen Arnaud reinjured his throwing hand on a third-down run four minutes before the halftime break, though he did eventually return to action.
By the time Toston rolled around right end, untouched, for a 17-yard scoring sprint midway through the third quarter, Oklahoma State had the game in a stranglehold, up 27-0.
A year ago, Oklahoma State humbled Iowa State, 59-17. And, just like last year, the talent-scale clearly tipped in the Cowboys' favor Saturday, as Oklahoma State routinely ran behind massive left tackle Russell Okung, a senior predicted to be among the first 10 selections in next spring's NFL draft.
The Cyclones are now 3-2 at home this season.
