Hawkeye women cough up chance for win

RENO, Nev. - Twenty-two turnovers did in the Iowa Hawkeye women Friday, in a 69-66 loss to West Virginia in holiday tournament play.

The Mountaineers (4-1) registered 14 steals while handing the Hawkeyes their second loss of the season.

Asya Bussie and Korinne Campbell scored 15 points apiece for West Virginia, which won despite shooting 38.1 percent from the floor and just 15.4 percent (2-for-13) from beyond the 3-point arc.

Freshman guard Jaime Printy produced the 4-2 Hawkeyes' top stat-line of the night, tallying 17 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. Kamille Wahlin and Kelly Krei each added 16 to aid the Iowa cause.

The Hawkeyes shot 55.2 percent in the first half before cooling off.
