JANESVILLE - A Clarksville woman was injured Thursday afternoon after rolling her vehicle while being pursued by police.
An officer in Janesville stopped Melissa Weiner, 39, about 2:40 p.m. near the intersection of Barrick Road and U.S. Highway 218. She sped off, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Weiner led the Janesville officer and Bremer County sheriff's deputies on a short chase. As she attempted to turn east on Gresham Road, Weiner lost control of her vehicle. The pickup slid into a ditch and landed on its top, according to the state patrol.
Weiner was transported to Allen Hospital. Her condition wasn't available this morning.
In an unrelated incident, another Northeast Iowa resident was taken to the hospital.
Scott Burke, 40, of Lime Springs, was driving a motorcycle south on County Road W14 west of Fort Atkinson about 3:50 p.m. He reportedly lost control going around a curve and entered a ditch, according to the state patrol.
Burke was thrown from the motorcycle. He was transported to the Winneshiek County Hospital. No information was available on his condition this morning.
