WATERLOO - A Waverly resident was killed Wednesday afternoon after apparently losing control of her motorcycle.
Sherry DeHoet, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Iowa State Patrol. She was southbound on U.S. Highway 63 at about 4 p.m. when her Harley-Davidson went into the median and rolled.
The accident happened near the intersection with Bennington Road north of Waterloo.
DeHoet worked part time for the Waverly-Shell Rock School District. She started in food service in 2006 at Southeast Elementary in Waverly.
Services for DeHoet are pending at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly.
