MARBLE ROCK - The Floyd County Community Foundation is announcing a permanent fund to serve programs, activities and organizations identified by Willard Bucklen.
The Bucklen Family Endowment will reinvest earnings, which will allow the fund to grow. To take advantage of a large investment pool and receive endowment support services, Bucklen elected to place the money with the Floyd County Community Foundation.
"The fund will support community betterment activities and provide scholarships for continuing education," Bucklen said in a prepared statement. "The Community Foundation made it easy for us to define and implement our goals, and ensures that the benefits will continue in perpetuity."
Susan Nelson, a foundation committee member, said the Bucklen family "has provided leadership by example for generations in Marble Rock."
"Bill Bucklen and his wife, Paula Stober, are continuing the family tradition with establishment of this fund," she said.
For information on donating to the Bucklen Family Endowment, call the foundation office at (319) 287-9106 or go to www.cfneia.org/floyd. Contributions are tax deductible.
The Floyd County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.
