PARKERSBURG -- A groundbreaking ceremony for the Parkersburg Commercial Building will take place Monday 11 a.m., at the junction of Iowa highways 14 and 57 in the area destroyed May 25 by a tornado
The 9,500-square-foot building will provide space for up to five businesses that are new or were displaced by the storm.
The project received $725,000 from 13 electric cooperatives through the U.S. Department of Agriculture revolving loan fund.
The cooperatives are Butler County, Calhoun County, Central Iowa Power, Consumers Energy, Corn Belt Power, Glidden, Grundy County, Guthrie County, Humboldt County, Iowa Lakes Electric, North West, Pella Cooperative Electric Association and Prairie Energy.
