WAVERLY - Horse lovers young and old are invited to a national tradition in town this week.
The Waverly Midwest Horse Sale starts today and Wednesday with tack and equipment on the auction block.
The draft horse sale will take place Thursday and Friday. The annual spring sale will wrap up Saturday with light driving horses, ponies and miniatures.
The sale, a Waverly tradition since 1947, is considered one of the nation's premier horse events. Every spring and fall, thousands of buyers and sellers flock to Bremer County from across the United States and frequently beyond.
Admission is free. All events take place at the Waverly Sale Barn, 2213 Fifth Ave. NW.
