SHEFFIELD - A Minnesota man was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 35 in Franklin County on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Ryan Shearen, 26, of White Bear Lake, Minn., was taken to Franklin General Hospital in Hampton with unknown injuries.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place about 1:20 p.m. near mile marker 177 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35.

Troopers said Shearen was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry northbound when he lost control and hit a bridge at the 177 mile marker. No further details were provided. He was wearing a seat belt, the report stated.
