VINTON - A Garrison woman died early Saturday morning following a single-vehicle accident near Vinton.

Brittney Lee Glime, 19, died from injuries suffered in the accident. Adam King, 26, also from Garrison, was seriously injured in the crash. He was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with life-threatening injuries. His condition is unknown, police said.

The accident occurred on 61st Street near 22nd Avenue, about 1 mile southwest of town at 2:07 a.m. Police said Peggy King, 48, of Garrison was driving a 1995 GMC Suburban when she apparently lost control. The westbound vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment.

The accident remains under investigation.

Responding to the accident were the Garrison-Mount Auburn Fire Department and First Responders, North Benton Ambulance, Benton County Sheriff's Rescue and the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
