WEST UNION - An inmate at Prairie View Residential Center is facing drug charges for allegedly bringing marijuana into the facility.

Eddie Lee Smith III, 48, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of marijuana, a class D felony for being a second or subsequent offense, according to the Fayette County sheriff's office.

Smith was taken to the Fayette County Jail.

He was later released on a promise to appear the next day in court.
