NEW HAMPTON - Chickasaw County Republicans will open a campaign office Tuesday at 10 E. Main St. in New Hampton. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.

Guests scheduled to appear include Iowa Republican Party Co-Chairman Leon Mosley and Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Evan "Curly" Hultman, both of Waterloo. Hultman is the veterans representative for Sen. John McCain's campaign in Iowa. Also expected is state Sen. Mark Zieman of Postville.

"It has been several years since we have had an office open to the public. It is time that we offer that accessibility to the voting public again," said Jon Hapgood, chairman of the Chickasaw County Republicans.

The office will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and until 8 p.m. on Thursday. The office will be open through Election Day on Nov. 4.

Hapgood added members of the voting public, regardless of political affiliation, are welcome.

Other county GOP officers are Vice Chairman Carolyn Martin-Shaw, Secretary Bob Lewis and Treasurer Wayne Moetsch.
