NEW HAMPTON -- The Iowa Transportation Commission this week approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy immediate opportunity grant application submitted by Chickasaw County.
Up to $240,000 will be available to help pay for construction of right- and left-turn lanes on Iowa Highway 24 between New Hampton and Lawler. The improvements are necessary to provide access to the Homeland Energy Solutions' proposed ethanol plant.
The road project will support creation of 40 jobs at Homeland Energy and $224 million in associated capital investment.
