DES MOINES - Recipients of the Reserve Officer Training Corps Governor's Cup Awards were recognized Tuesday at the Capitol.

The awards are presented annually by the governor's office - this year by Lt. Gov. Sally Pederson - to honor leadership, academics and military achievement.

Honorees are selected from ROTC programs at Drake University, Iowa State University, the University of Dubuque, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa.

This year's recipients include:

Staff Sgt. Ralia Bouska, U.S. Marine Corps, Iowa State University Navy ROTC. She is the daughter of Francis Bouska of Decorah and Audrey and Francis Hyke of Cresco.

Cadet Lt. Col. Jason Feldt, University of Northern Iowa Army ROTC. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curt Feldt of Manchester.

Cadet 1st Lt. Patrick Lange, Iowa State University Air Force ROTC. He is the son of Michael and Carlean Lange of Monona.

"The commitment they have shown to their country and fellow citizens, while maintaining high marks in academics, is something for which all Iowans can be proud," Pederson said.
