PARKERSBURG - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Monday afternoon will walk through Parkersburg's storm-ravaged streets and view rebuilding efforts in the wake of a May tornado.

She will be accompanied by Rep. Bruce Braley, D-Waterloo, on a trip that includes a driving tour of flood damage in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and the Sinclair elevator area near New Hartford.

Pelosi is scheduled to arrive in the Cedar Valley at approximately mid-afternoon, following a noon tour of flood damage in Des Moines. The walking tour of Parkersburg is anticipated to begin at approximately 2:45 p.m.

After surveying the local damage, Pelosi will also meet with the city leaders, including the mayors of Waterloo and Cedar Falls, at the Waterloo Regional Airport.

Pelosi will then continue south to Cedar Rapids, a city that bore the brunt of June's record flooding.
