NASHUA - The newest sections of the U.S. Highway 218 bypass will be open to traffic Wednesday.

A two-mile section just west of Nashua includes the new interchange with U.S. Highway 218, Iowa 346 and county road B-60. This section of four-lane will be open from 290th Street to 270th Street.

A second section of new four-lane between 240th Street and Walnut Avenue north of Nashua also will be opened.

Once new U.S. 218 is open, the old highway will be closed to complete the remaining gaps. The entire four-lane road between Plainfield and Charles City is scheduled for completion later this fall.
