JANESVILLE - Three teenagers were injured Saturday morning in a single-vehicle accident near Janesville.
Dreama Lancaster, 17, and Levi Wolfensperger, 15, both of Waverly and Samantha Sullivan, 16, of Mason City were all transported by ambulance to the Waverly Health Center for undisclosed injuries. Wolfensperger is a wrestler for Denver/Tripoli High School.
The accident occurred at 8:14 a.m. on Highway 218 at the intersection of 260th Street.
All three were treated at the hospital and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Lancaster was driving a 2000 GMC Jimmy sports utility vehicle when she fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle went onto the right shoulder and Lancaster overcorrected. The vehicle came back on the roadway and rolled, coming to rest on its side in the east ditch.
Lancaster was cited for failure to maintain control.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Janesville Police Department, Janesville Fire Department and Bremer County Sheriff's Department.
