WATERLOO -- The most fully restored B-17 Flying Fortress, "Sentimental Journey," a World War II vintage bomber airplane, will fly into Waterloo Municipal Airport next month, offering the public an up-close and personal look at this unique piece of aviation history.

The public is invited to tour this airplane -- inside and out. A $5 donation is requested to tour through the plane. There's also an opportunity to take a flight in "Sentimental Journey."

Flight opportunities on "Sentimental Journey" are $425 per person, tax-deductible, with a minimum of five people per flight. The flight will average 45 minutes. Minimum age of passengers is 18 years. For more information and to make reservations, call (602) 448-9415.

The plane will arrive at Waterloo Municipal Airport at noon Aug. 4, and will be on display at Waterloo Municipal Airport until the aircraft departs Aug. 8.

Sentimental Journey will be displayed and can be toured from noon to 6 p.m. (or until the crowd thins out), weather permitting, Aug. 4; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (or until the crowd thins out) Aug. 5-7, weather permitting.

Sentimental Journey has been restored as a flying museum/memorial by the Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing. All tour proceeds benefit Sentimental Journey.

Members of the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force are volunteers, and the Commemorative Air Force is a nonprofit organization.
