WATERLOO -- Two clerks were cited Tuesday after selling alcohol to an undercover minor.

Waterloo police officers conducted alcohol compliance checks at 23 local businesses Tuesday using a 17-year-old male.

Lisa Ann Wach, 47, of 6219 Lafayette Road, and Sebina S. Kostic, 25, of 524 Cloverdale Ave., were charged with selling alcohol to a person underage. Wach was working at Elite Liquor, 1309 Lafayette St. Kostic was working at the Logan Avenue Hy-Vee.

The fine for a clerk is $500 plus a surcharge and court costs, for a total of $710. The businesses can also be subject to a civil penalty and suspension of their liquor license.
