WATERLOO - A Waterloo man was arrested after he was spotted inside a closed store.
Police said Lucas Raymond Thompson, 22, dropped his wallet when he fled from Hancock Fabrics on University Avenue shortly before officers arrived.
Police said they found Thompson, of 1028 Chalmers Ave., hiding in bushes near his home. He was arrested for second-degree burglary and public intoxication.
Thompson apparently hid in the store aisles until workers locked the doors for the night, police said. Employees called police when he emerged and tried to take a monitor screen from the top of a cash register, police said.
