CEDAR FALLS (AP) - U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley and his wife plan to leave money from their estate for a professor position at the University of Northern Iowa.

Officials say the post will be in the Department of Political Science and be known as the Chuck and Barbara Grassley Endowed Professorship in Political Science.

The senator says it is important to recruit top educators to the university.

University officials say the gift amount won't be determined until after the Grassleys' deaths.

The Grassleys are both UNI alumni.
