WATERLOO - Police had to shoot a pit bull in the 500 block of Courtland Street Tuesday after it attacked another dog and started acting aggressively toward officers.
Waterloo police received a call just before noon about two pitbulls fighting behind 512 Courtland St. When officers arrived, they found a black dog fighting with a brown dog. When the officers couldn't get the animals to separate, they fired a Taser at them. The brown dog took off running through the neighborhood, while the black dog began acting aggressively toward the officers. The dog was shot and killed, according to police records.
