CEDAR FALLS - A car chase early this morning ended when the suspect's vehicle went off the road and crashed into a building in the Cedar Falls Industrial Park.

Police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Neil Lawrence Heminover, 45, of 1500 Commercial St., Waterloo, in the 200 block of Main Street at 2:51 a.m.

Cedar Falls Police report a chase ensued with speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour on southbound Iowa Highway 58. Police attempted to use stop sticks at the intersection of Highway 58 and Greenhill Road, but were unable to do so because of extenuating circumstances.

Police said Heminover turned west on Viking Road, then lost control at Enterprise Drive and Viking Road, went down an embankment, traveled across a parking lot and crashed into the Crystal Distribution building at 1109 E. Viking Road.

Heminover was arrested for driving while license barred, driving with a suspended license, driving while license revoked and felony eluding.
