ELDORADO - Firefighters have not yet determined what caused a blaze Saturday that destroyed a machine shed filled with farm equipment, according to Ferlin Lauer, who owned the implements.

The property is near Eldorado and owned by Helen Grimes. When firefighters from West Union arrived at about 10:30 p.m., the building was engulfed.

The implements damaged include two older International tractors, a baler and grain head. Kenneth and Kyle Grimes owned tools also lost in the fire. The total value of the loss could exceed $50,000, according to authorities.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 3 a.m., Assistant Fire Chief Leroy Soppe said.
