CEDAR FALLS - Cedar Falls police have released a description of the man who robbed Community National Bank, 312 W. First St., Cedar Falls, this morning.
It is the second bank robbery in Cedar Falls this month.
The robbery took place about 9:30 a.m.
Bank employees told police that a lone suspect robbed them and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was described as a white male, ages 20 to 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall. He had a medium build and was wearing a stadium jacket with a hood, dark-colored stocking hat, jeans, a muffler or covering across the lower part of his face and sunglasses.
The suspect left the bank, running away.
Deb Stevenson, who runs an inter office shuttle between Community National Bank branches, was allowed to come to the bank's back door to retrieve paperwork, but was not allowed to enter the building. She said bank employees reported that no one was harmed in the holdup.
This morning's robbery has some similarities with the Nov. 6 heist at Lincoln Savings Bank at 301 Washington St. Both branch banks are located near City Hall and the police station. And both robberies happened at about 9:30 a.m.
