WATERLOO - A Waterloo woman was shot during one of two home invasion robberies that happened a mere hour apart this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to 223 Hope St. at about 5 a.m. after receiving a report of a person armed with a gun entering the home.
When they arrived, authorities found the shooting victim, who wasn't immediately identified, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Crews with Waterloo Fire Rescue took her to Allen Hospital, but her condition wasn't available. Police said, though, they do not believe the injuries are life threatening.
The attack was the second reported in the pre-dawn darkness today.
The other robbery occurred shortly before 4 a.m. at 145 Dearborn Ave. Three or four men armed with handguns and long guns forced their way into the home and demanded money, according to Waterloo police.
The attackers fled on foot with undisclosed items. No injuries were reported.
Police said the three people living at the Dearborn house - Trista Hill, 25; Devon Parham, 28; and Davarius Parham, 23, were all asleep when they were awakened by the intruders breaking into the home.
The intruders in that case reportedly wore face masks and had on blue and black hoodies.
