WATERLOO - The Cedar Valley Hospice Speakers Bureau provides educational presentations to the community on issues related to hospice and palliative care, death and dying, and grief. Topics can be modified to meet group needs and are free of charge.
Presentations include but are not limited to:
n Introduction to Cedar Valley Hospice: Explains hospice and how it differs from other types of health care.
n Advance Directives/Care Planning: Explains terms and benefits to the patient and other family members.
n Hospice Home: Explains the function of the Cedar Valley's only Hospice Home located at 2001 Kimball Ave., Waterloo.
n The Eucalyptus Tree Program: Explains the special youth program that provides support and care for children and families experiencing life-threatening illness or grieving a death.
n Hospice Volunteer Programs: Shares the opportunities individuals have to be a part of the Cedar Valley Hospice program of care.
n HIV/AIDS Education: Discusses HIV and AIDS and includes the story of a Cedar Aids Support System client.
