WATERLOO - At least two people were stabbed or cut in what witnesses described as a gang fight at Exchange Park shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Two ambulances were at the scene, and police cordoned off a large section of the western tip of the park, which includes a lighted shelter.

Witnesses said two groups of teenagers had planned to meet at the park to fight, and the melee started with two people trading punches in the grass near the shelter.

Within seconds, others jumped in, and two boys, ages 16 and 17, stumbled out of the fight bleeding.

Police were busy at the scene and unable to comment on the incident.
