--- Public ice skating at Young Arena, 125 Commercial St., Waterloo, will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Admission is $4 with a $3 skate rental fee.

--- There is a book discussion group meeting at 10 a.m. at the Cedar Falls Public Library, 524 Main St. The book to be discussed is "People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks. Everyone is welcome.

--- In high school girls' basketball action, Janesville will play at NU High at 7:30 p.m., and Columbus will play at Solon at 7:30 p.m.

--- There is high school bowling action taking place today. Iowa City High will take on Waterloo East at Cadillac Lanes (boys and girls) at 3:45 p.m. Waterloo West will play at Cedar Rapids Washington. Denver will play at Waterloo Columbus and Cedar Falls will be at Dubuque Hempstead.
