What's going on today in the Cedar Valley:
-- Payne Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church will host a back to school prayer rally at 6 p.m. at 1044 Mobile St., Waterloo. It is free and open to the community.
--The Iowa Cutting Horse Show Futurity starts today at 8 a.m. at McElroy Auditorium on the National Cattle Congress grounds. Admission is free.
-- There is a book fair today at the Waverly Health Center lobby from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Proceeds will be used by the hospital's auxiliary to aid in the financing of projects at the center.
-- The Riverside Cafe is open today at noon at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. This allows for lunch along the Cedar River with music by Sharon Anway. Reservations must be made. Call 291-4490. The cost is $14.
-- The Cedar Valley Farmers' Market at Crossroads Center will be open from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on the lower level of the mall by J.C. Penney's.
-- The University Avenue Farmers' Market at the University Avenue Hy-Vee in Waterloo is open from 4 to 7 p.m.
