Maple Syrup Festival

Time: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. today

Location: Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Cedar Falls

Details: All-you-can eat pancakes, wander through the woods to watch and learn about the process of maple syrup production.

Tickets: Advance are $6 adults and $4 for youth ages 12 and under; at the door $6.50 and $4.50, respectively.

Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra

Location: Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, Cedar Falls

Details: Joining the orchestra will be the Metropolitan Chorale and the Wartburg Choir along with Wartburg faculty member Rosemary Gast and UNI faculty member John Hines.

Lend Me A Tenor

Location: Oster Regent Theatre, Cedar Falls

Details: Cedar Falls Community Theater production. In Ken Ludwig's raucous farce, world famous opera singer Tito Morelli is to perform "Otello" with the Cleveland Grant Opera co. In a series of mishaps involving too many tranquilizers for Tito, manager Max masquerading as Morelli tries to fool the public, and two women in lingerie pursing the two Otellos running around the costume.

'Dead White Males: A Year in the Trenches of Teacher'

Location: Lang Hall, University of Northern Iowa campus, Cedar Falls

Details: Interpreter's Theatre production. Directed by UNI student Emily Eisenman. It is a biting sature of the public school system.
