Events today in the Cedar Valley:

- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today-Thursday, Spring Break Blowout at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. For ages 13-16. Spend three days drawing, painting, sculpting, taking photos, watching movies and installing an exhibit of your work. The cost is $60.

- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today-Thursday, Gettin' Medieval, at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. For ages 9-12. Spend spring break in medieval times building castles, sculpting gargoyles, having Youth Pavilion fun and a feast medieval style. Cost is $55.

- 11:30 a.m. today, Wartburg convocation at Neumann Auditorium, Wartburg College, Waverly. The author of the New York Times bestseller "Three Cups of Tea," Greg Mortenson, will speak. The book was Wartburg's 2007-08 Readings in Common selection.

- 1 p.m. today, adult movie matinee at the Waterloo Public Library. A free showing of "No Reservations" with Catherine Zeta-Jones.
