Today in the Cedar Valley:
- Nature Tales for pre-schoolers will be 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hartman Reserve Nature Center, 657 Reserve Drive, Cedar Falls. Stories will be read with a nature theme. Admission is free.
- Wartburg softball will take on North Center (Minn.) at 4:30 p.m. at the Wartburg College softball field in Waverly.
- The UNI Symphonic Band will give a performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, Cedar Falls. Admission is free.
- There is public ice skating at Young Arena, 125 Commercial St., Waterloo, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Admission is $3 with a $3 skate rental fee.
- In high school sports, Iowa City High will take on Waterloo West in girls' soccer at the Cedar Valley Soccer complex at 4:15 p.m.
